Here is our 2nd attempt at the design of a 3D printed base. While our first design was functional, it was too easy to break off the standoffs. So, for the redesign, we made the standoffs MUCH more robust:
The notch on the top pillar allows a power supply cable to be plugged into an RPi4 without interference.
We also tried putting M3 threads on the posts for the Pi-Plates but even with the slicer set to 0.1mm, we couldn't thread anything on without snapping them off. An alternate idea would be to embed some M3 nuts in the print. Let us know if you do this and we'll share your file. If you want to print your own Pi-Plates base, the STL file can be found HERE.
